Create a quote

A quote starts from a lead. You add what the job includes and the prices, and TradeCRM works out the totals.

You'll need

A lead with a customer email address, if you plan to send it by email.

  1. Click Leads and open the lead the quote is for.

  2. Find the Quotes box and press New quote.

  3. Give it a Quote title, like Bathroom refit.

  4. Optionally write a Message to the customer. It shows at the top of the emailed quote and the quote page. Leave it blank for a standard intro.

  5. Under Line items, fill in a Description, quantity and unit price. Press Add line for each extra item.

  6. Set the VAT rate (%). Enter 0 if you don't charge VAT.

  7. Choose Valid until, the last day the customer can accept.

  8. Check Reminder emails (see below).

  9. Add any Terms, such as payment terms or what's excluded.

  10. Press Save draft.

Good to know

Saving doesn't send anything. A draft stays a draft, and you can edit or delete it until you're ready.

Reminder emails

This box decides when the customer is chased if they go quiet. It's the number of days after sending, such as 3, 7 for a reminder after 3 days and another after 7. Leave it as it is to use your default, or change it just for this quote. See Set up automatic quote reminders.

Quick alternative

Rather than filling in the form, ask the AI assistant: "Quote Bob for a new boiler." It asks for the prices and VAT, then saves a draft for you to check. It can never send a quote for you. See Use the AI assistant.
