Understand lead statuses and how to change them
A status is a quick way to see where each job is up to. You change it with buttons at the top of the lead.
The statuses
- New: just arrived.
- Contact: you've been in touch.
- Awaiting customer: you're waiting for them to come back to you.
- Qualified: it's a real job worth quoting.
- Quoted: a quote has gone out.
- Won: they said yes.
- Lost: it didn't happen.
- Pause: not now, maybe later.
Change a status
Click Leads and open the lead.
Press the status you want. The current one is highlighted.
Marking a lead as Lost
When you press Lost, a box asks why. It's optional, but worth a few words, like chose another contractor or budget too high. Reports use this to show you what's costing you work. See See how your business is doing with Reports.
Some statuses change by themselves
- Sending a quote moves the lead to Quoted.
- A customer accepting a quote moves it to Won.
- Won, Lost or Pause stops automatic follow-up emails straight away.
Tidying up
Archive on a lead takes it out of your day-to-day list. Unarchive brings it back.
To stop automatic follow-ups on just one lead without changing its status, press Disable automation on that lead.
